My focus is function and form. I feel that presenting flowers in a strong simple vessel gives the viewer a clear impression of nature's perfection. After making pots for over 30 years, I always found myself drawn to Asian ceramics. I use traditional Asian glazes, such as Oribe and ash glaze. The colors, forms and glaze textures lend themselves to a combination with nature. I hope that my work slows people down to appreciate the flowers they bring into their lives.
